Although highly resistant, collagen fibers deteriorate with time and oxidative stress. This oxidation is exacerbated by the consumption of tobacco, alcohol, refined and highly processed foods, and excessive exposure to sunlight.
From the age of 30 onwards, collagen synthesis declines with each passing year, and can manifest itself in the appearance of wrinkles, loss of elasticity, muscle weakness and joint pain.
What's more, its high amino acid content makes it an ideal source of vitamins and minerals, collagen is an essential part of sports nutrition.
For adults: One measuring spoon a day (approx. 10 g), dissolved in cold, warm or hot water. Consume with meals.
Marine collagen is neutral in taste. It contains no flavorings.
Tip: You can facilitate its absorption by emulsifying it with a small hand-held emulsifier, or blend it with your smoothies.

Collagen is a large molecule, weighing around 300,000 daltons. It is insoluble in water in its raw state and has low bioavailability.
Collagen hydrolysis is the process of cutting up the large collagen protein into small pieces called collagen "peptides". These small peptides are less than 2000 daltons in size. Hydrolysis greatly increases the bioavailability of collagen.
Collagen from pigs, cattle or chicken is well assimilated by the body. Some doctors advise against the use of collagens from these animals if the origin and manufacturing techniques are not fully traced, as there are unfortunately still a few cases of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
The bioavailability of hydrolyzed marine collagen is similar to that of collagens from other animals, as the small size of the peptides (2 to 20 amino acids) makes all the difference when the molecule is presented to the intestinal mucosa. Molecular weight is therefore a major factor in terms of assimilation.
Hydrolyzed marine collagen is highly stable. So stable, in fact, that it has a best-before date of 5 years! The manufacturer guarantees that presentation in sachets or jars does not alter the quality of the collagen, even if the jar is opened daily.
It's the associated active ingredients that sometimes create instability and an increased risk of oxidation. In our case, the collagen is pure. No additives have been added. It is therefore totally unnecessary to package it in sticks or other single-dose products, which have a negative impact on the environment and the use of resources.
